Isosorbide is used to prevent or treat chest pain (angina). It works by relaxing the blood vessels to the heart, so the blood and oxygen supply to the heart is increased.Isosorbide comes as a regular, sublingual, chewable, and extended-release (long-acting) tablet and extended-release (long-acting) capsule to be taken by mouth. The tablet usually is taken every 6 hours. The extended-release tablet usually is taken one or two times a day. The extended-release capsule usually is taken every 8-12 hours. Do not crush, chew, or divide the extended-release tablets or capsules. The sublingual or chewable tablet is used as needed to relieve chest pain that has already started or to prevent pain before activities known to provoke attacks (e.g., climbing stairs, sexual activity, heavy exercise, or being outside in cold weather). The chewable tablet also may be used every 2-3 hours to prevent chest pain. Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully, and ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand. Take isosorbide exactly as directed. Do not take more or less of it or take it more often than prescribed by your doctor.Isosorbide controls chest pain but does not cure it. Continue to take isosorbide even if you feel well. If you are taking isosorbide and your chest pain is not relieved within 5-10 minutes, take another dose. Call for emergency assistance or go to a hospital emergency department if pain persists after you have taken three tablets (at 5-10-minute intervals) and 15-30 minutes have passed. When an attack occurs, sit down. If you use chewable tablets, chew a tablet thoroughly and swallow it. To use the sublingual tablets, place a tablet under your tongue or between your cheek and gum and allow it to dissolve. Do not swallow the tablet. Try not to swallow saliva too often until the tablet dissolves.Isosorbide tablets are also used with other drugs to treat congestive heart failure. Bromocriptine is used to treat amenorrhea, a condition in which the menstrual period does not occur; infertility (inability to get pregnant) in women; abnormal discharge of milk from the breast; hypogonadism; Parkinson's disease; and acromegaly, a condition in which too much growth hormone is in the body.Bromocriptine comes as a capsule and tablet to take by mouth. If you are taking bromocriptine to become pregnant, use a method of birth control other than oral contraceptives (birth control pills) until you have regular menstrual periods; then stop using birth control. If your menstrual period is 3 days late, call your doctor for a pregnancy test. Women who become pregnant while taking this medication should stop taking it and call their doctors immediately. It will not prevent headaches or reduce the number of attacks.Imigran is prescribed for the treatment of a migraine attack with or without the presence of an aura (visual disturbances, usually sensations of halos or flickering lights, which precede an attack). The injectable form is also used to relieve cluster headache attacks. (Cluster headaches come on in waves, then disappear for long periods of time. It is used to treat skin infections with the herpes simplex virus, for example cold sores and genital herpes (caused by herpes simplex virus types 1 and 2). (NB. Aciclovir cream is also available without a brand name, ie as the generic medicine.)Aciclovir works by stopping the herpes simplex virus from reproducing and infecting more cells.Aciclovir is converted to a more active form inside cells of the body that are infected with herpes simplex. The activated aciclovir then works by blocking the action of a viral enzyme called DNA polymerase. The herpes virus needs the DNA polymerase enzyme to copy its genetic material from RNA to DNA. This process is necessary for the virus to multiply and continue to survive. By blocking the action of DNA polymerase, aciclovir prevents the herpes virus from multiplying. This controls the infection and helps the immune system to deal with it.For recurrent infections aciclovir cream is most effective if treatment is started as soon as the first signs of the infection begin to reappear. What is it used for? Genital herpes (herpes simplex infection) Cold sores (herpes simplex infection)

They also help the heart to beat more regularlyBelok Zok ampuls and tablets are indicated in the treatment of hemodynamically stable patients with definite or suspected acute myocardial infarction to reduce cardiovascular mortality. Treatment with intravenous Belok can be initiated as soon as the patient's clinical condition allows. When prescribed for high blood pressure, it is effective when used alone or in combination with other high blood pressure medications. Beta blockers decrease the force and rate of heart contractions, thereby reducing the demand for oxygen and lowering blood pressure.Occasionally doctors prescribe Lopressor for the treatment of aggressive behavior, prevention of migraine headache, and relief of temporary anxiety. An extended-release form of metoprolol, called Toprol-XL, is prescribed for high blood pressure, angina, and heart failure. (NB. Fluconazole is also available without a brand name, ie as the generic medicine.) Fluconazole is used to treat infections with fungi and yeasts.Fluconazole kills the fungi that are causing an infection by interfering with their cell membranes. It works by stopping the fungi from producing a substance called ergosterol, which is an essential component of fungal cell membranes. The disruption in production of ergosterol causes holes to appear in the fungal cell membrane. The cell membranes of fungi are vital for their survival. They keep unwanted substances from entering the cells and stop the contents of the cells from leaking out. As fluconazole causes holes to appear in the cell membranes, essential constituents of the fungal cells can leak out. This kills the fungi and treats the infection. Fluconazole is used to treat a number of different types of fungal and yeast infections, particularly those caused by Candida or Cryptococcus species of fungi. It can be taken by mouth or may be administered via a drip into a vein (intravenous infusion) depending on the type and severity of the infection.
